Obituary for Guadalupe Navarro

Guadalupe  Navarro
Guadalupe S. Navarro was born in Abram, Texas on October 4, 1917. She was raised and lived in Mission, Texas. She moved to McAllen, Texas in the early 1960’s and to Edinburg in the late 1960’s. Lupita was a loving wife to her husband, Victor Navarro until he passed in 1984. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many opening up her home to huge family gathering on Sundays. Lupita loved gardening and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed playing Mexican Loteria with her children every weekend. She enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lupita was a woman of strong faith and a positive attitude. The love of her children and extended family kept her living a long and faithful life. She went to heaven on November 15, 2017 after a short illness.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Navarro; and a daughter Dolores Cantu.
Guadalupe is survived by her seven children, Ramon (+Aminta) Navarro, Ruben (Angelita) Navarro, Socorro (Ricardo) Garcia, Gloria (Antonio) Salazar, Hilda (Hector) Lara, Rosendo (Gracie) Navarro, Annabelle (Andres) Lozano; she is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Carlos Navarro, Eddie Navarro, Greg Garcia, David Salazar, Oscar Cavazos, and Xavier Navarro.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
