ROSA P. LEAL
EDINBURG – Rosa P. Leal, 79, went home to the Lord Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Weslaco, Mrs. Leal had lived in Edinburg most of her life. Rosa took delight in spending quality time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed family summer vacations gambling in Las Vegas that always ended in Six Flags, and playing bingo in San Antonio. On February 27, 2014, Pedro anticipated to Heaven after 54 years of marriage on the day before his birthday he took his beloved wife to reunite for eternity. Rosa will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Leal; and her parents, Generoso and Maria S. Pena.
Mrs. Leal is survived by five children, Gerardo Leal of Edinburg, Eleazar (Sandra) Leal of Dallas, Leticia Leal (Ruben) Cervantes of San Antonio, Belinda (Domingo) Cantu, Eric (Melissa) Leal, both of Edinburg; six grandchildren, Julian P. Leal, Amanda Nicole Leal, Sarai Leal, Fabian J. Cervantes, Dehlila Cantu, Deandra Cantu; three step-grandchildren, Briana Kay Thatcher, Corey A. Cantu, Ruben Michael Cervantes.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funerals services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
